¡Hola! I’m Andrea from Bilbao, in the north of Spain!
I have a 4-year degree in Spanish Studies from the University of Deusto, which covered linguistics, literature, grammar and the history of the Spanish language and I later qualified as a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language.
I am an official DELE examiner (awarded by Institute Cervantes, London) for levels A1 to C2.
Since joining Vamos in September 2012, I became part of the academic department where my responsibilities included the recruitment and training of new teachers.
I am now the school's Director of Studies.
My teaching style places particular emphasis on the communicative approach and I always want my students to get the most out of their lesson.
I love teaching so much that it hardly feels like a job and so I hope you too enjoy your course at ¡Vamos!

This course forms part one of 3 courses for B2 plus students. It’s a 20-hour course during which you follow an established model of teaching through spoken and written activities involving:
Job offers and job applications – how to write a job advertisement, develop a CV, write a job application letter and talk in a job interview.
Learn the professional language used to framework meetings, express opinions, defend proposals and reach agreements.
Learn the vocabulary and grammar used to manage job transfers and relocations.

The course has been fantastic! I have been learning Spanish with Vamos since last year and I am amazed at how much I have learnt. This is mainly due to the excellent quality of the teaching. Sonia is an inspiring and highly skilled teacher who makes the lessons fun and engaging. She also provides a very structured framework of grammar and language skills which we build on each session. She shares her knowledge of Spanish culture and makes lessons really enjoyable and great fun. I am really inspired to keep learning.
It feels like a safe space to learn and ask questions. The activity book is very helpful and Sonia is friendly and knowledgeable.
