A2 (level 6 plus) conversation classes every Saturday at 1pm.

This is a 16-hour course over 8 weeks.  It’s fun and informal and specially aligned to the A2 syllabus and a great way to help you practise.

Classes start with a short grammar and vocabulary revision exercise, followed by a variety of games, roleplays, music and videos all designed to get you talking.

Lesson 1: ‘Shall we go to the cinema?’

• Speaking on the phone
• Taking someone out: arrange an appointment
• Vocabulary: events and places

Lesson 2:  ‘I rather go by train – it’s quicker’

• Expressing preferences when travelling
• Making comparisons
• Public transport: travel times, buying tickets; checking travel details

Lesson 3: ‘How do I get to the British Museum?’

• Understanding where a place is and how to get there
• Giving directions: ‘El Imperativo’
• Vocabulary: around the city

Lesson 4: ‘I went to a great party on Saturday’

• Talk about your last weekend
• Pretérito Indefinido: third person irregular verbs
• Extra vocabulary: parties, free time activities, trips, etc

Lesson 5: ‘The best present I have ever received’

• Describing things: material, colour, shape and use
• Possessive pronouns
• Direct and Indirect objects pronouns

Lesson 6: ‘I used to play in a rock band’

• Introduction to the Imperfect Tense: conjugation and use
• Describing people, places and things in the past
• Vocabulary: adjectives to describe character

Lesson 7: ‘I got my first job when I was 21′

• Compare and contrast: ‘Pretérito Imperfecto’ and ‘Present Tense’
• Vocabulary: transport, hobbies, habits, etc.

Lesson 8: ‘Revision’

• Revision of contents covered in the course
• Practising: role plays and debates
